More CORE
The More CORE: College and Career Readiness program connects CORE Scholars (high school students) with college and career readiness resources across the university to help prepare them for their desired post-secondary and career pathways.
Who participates in More CORE?
- High schools or groups within high schools from the greater Twin Cities area
- Students in Grades 9-12, majority of students from underrepresented groups in STEM

Student Success Seminars provided by CORE and our partners
- Learn about UMN Admissions, student life, and student support services
- Benefit from a panel or Q&A session with UMN faculty, staff, and/or undergraduate students
- Begin developing a Student Success Profile in preparation for admission to and graduation from UMN and other post-secondary experiences
At High School Partners
In the classroom or another school space (e.g., gym, auditorium, library, conference room, multipurpose room, lunch room)
- Fall: During a two-week period every November/December, during the school day
- Spring: During a two-week period every April, during the school day
COREcosystem Tour
An interactive STEM based campus tour that connects high school groups to the STEM and college and career readiness ecosystems at UMN
- Centered around the identities of underrepresented students and students majoring in STEM
- Activities include: interactions with current undergraduate students, participation in hands-on STEM activities, sessions about the Admissions process, and visits to key locations on campus
At the UMN Twin Cities campus
Across campus, curated based on your groups’ interests
- Fall: One Saturday
- Spring: One Saturday
